Rethinking "What Bradley owed"

Since 1964, the well-known short story“What Bradley owed”has been quoted in the approved textbook of moral education for elementary school in Japan. In the light of business management, the story not in the textbook but the original (1911) seems to give some insights helpful for both financial independence and start-ups to general readers as well as students studying business course. That is what this paper proves. Firstly, we compare the story in the textbook with the original to focus on the difference between them. Secondly, regarding to monetary evaluation, financial independence, and so-called two factor (motivation-hygiene) theory, we critically review the provision i.e. mutual duty to support in Civil Code of Japan and the philosophy of“the power to live”in the official guidelines for the course of moral education. Thirdly, based on the critical review above, we prove that the story original instead of the story in the textbook is worth treading
